Marie Curie (1867-1934)



She was a chemistry and physics Polish pioneer in the field of radioactivity. She made history, becoming the first person who received two Nobel prizes, the physic one, with her husband Pierre, in recognition of their studies of radiation phenomena discovered by Henri Becquerel and the second, chemical because of the discovery of the elements radium and polonium, the isolation of radium and the study of the nature and compounds of this element. She was also the first woman who began teaching as a professor at the University of Paris.
She died because of  the radioactivity that she was studying.
